Mad Alice Bloody Tour of York and where to find the York Discount Vouchers to do tours for less
/York is like a man with a new web browser - happy to show you its History. So if you are currently searching for a historic tour online then head to The Bloody Tour of York’s webpage.
This is one of our favourite tours because its funny, a bit weird and packed with facts that are probably true, but may have been finessed over the years - a bit like my CV .
Other ways it differs from my CV include its focus on people and places from York’s history and its complete lack of bullet pointed top achievements at my Saturday job at Bishops Supermarket in Chalfont St Peter.
Its on every night from April - October, and on Saturdays in other months and starts at 6 or 8pm from St. William’s College (the black and white building at the back of the York Minster).
When we did the tour Mad Alice was incredible, not only was she really funny and kind, she also quickly knew everyones name, remembered them and chatted to each of us throughout the walk.
But don’t take my word for it, she has also recently won a bucket load of well deserved awards including:
Best Tour Award Europe
York Culture Award for Performing Artist
• Visit York Tourism Award
My favourite york history
York has a street called Whip-Ma-Whop-Ma-Gate and no one knows why. I think I would quite like to see someone Whip-Ma-Whop-Ma-Gate someone else - though I may need to clear my browser history afterwards.
