I like this tour despite the fact that I still have a bit of PTSD connected to busses due to 5.00 am wake ups by my daughter demanding to watch The Magic School Bus over and over again on DVD (dam you Ms. Frizzle).
Luckily that was all over by the time we moved to York and took this bus tour that gave us 2 invaluable things:
A fantastic big picture understanding of the city that you just can’t get from a map or a book
Lots of waypoints that helped us find our way round the maze that is York
The tour starts at Exhibition Square (right outside York Art Gallery) and runs all day from 9.08am to 4.38pm. You can by tickets at Exhibition Square or you can get them online and they are valid for 24 hours.
Our guests have found that the best ways to use the tour is:
complete a full loop of the bus tour first
then spend the rest of your day hopping on and off at all the attractions and things you want to see (it stops off at 24 of therm)

There are so many things to do, see and eat in York that you could write a book on it, so we did. But this is not a guide to everything that is York, it’s really just our favourite things and more importantly the one’s that when our guests ask, we recommend.
