York Minster and where to find the York Discount Vouchers to visit York attractions for less
/York Minster, Deangate, York, YO1 7HH
When we first moved to York I spent a lot of time getting lost, at which point I would look around until I saw the Minster’s spires - it was my fist waypoint.
In addition to being my personal waypoint some people also say that its one of the world’s most magnificent cathedrals, a vision of heaven on earth crafted in stained glass and stone, a sacred place who’s story stretches back 2,000 years to the birth of modern day Christianity in Roman York - but its also great for finding your way back to McDonalds.
Once you hae had your Big Mac you can go to the Minster and follow the footsteps of Roman soldiers, discover the Minster’s connections to Viking York and touch archaeological finds from across the centuries in the state of the art Undercroft Museum beneath the cathedral.
Museum entrance is included in your admission price and you can also try a guided tour like we did where you will find out loads of stuff and stories about the cathedral’s 800 year history.
