All our friends and family have been to York Chocolate Story because, well, we took them there. Its a fab, fun interactive experience and you get to eat loads and loads and loads of chocolate.
The museum does everything chocolate from origins, how to make it, and how to taste it like an expert.
You also learn lots of secrets and facts behind York's greatest chocolate products from the Chocolate Orange to the Kit Kat.
Once you've explored chocolate-making and its history, you get to make a chocolate lolly and then eat more chocolate from a chocolate-making demonstration from a chocolatier.
How good does that sound? - in fact I'm thinking i should go again soon.
Local Knowledge
Make sure you book online because there is often a queue especially on weekends and holidays - its also cheaper
The staff are all ‘choc professors’ so make sure you ask them about their favourite local chocolate shops
If you are going to buy gifts for family and friends then this is the gift shop you want as its packed with loads of unique York chocolate goodies - much better than a rubbish key ring or magnet
They do small private group workshops with choctails and wine
Its allergy friendly and has disabled / buggy access

There are so many things to do, see and eat in York that you could write a book on it, so we did. But this is not a guide to everything that is York, it’s really just our favourite things and more importantly the one’s that when our guests ask, we recommend.
