Tah Tien York Thai Food and where to find the York Discount Vouchers to eat for less
/10 North Street, York YO1 6JD
We lived in Asia for 18 years, so we know great Asian food, especially Thai food and this is it. The other great news is its right in the centre of York tucked away on a small road just by the river.
Be warned, Tah Tien is a small restaurant and its communal dining - but that gives you a really authentic experience of Bangkok street food culture but without the back packers telling you where they found themselves, Ti Die everything and unusual ping pong propulsion techniques.
Essentially it’s Thai Street Food in a Tapas style with lots of authentic Thai dishes and when you eat one I can guarantee you will get flavour explosions.
If you want to go there to eat (we often get a take away), then make sure you book - especially on weekends as its small and busy.
What we love to eat there
Peek Gai Krob (Crunchy wings with honey, garlic & soy sauce)
Geaw Tord (Deep fried pork & prawn dumplings)
Nue Foy(Crispy beef with spicy sweet chilli sauce)
Massaman Curry and the Tom Yum Soup are my wife’s favourites
Bucket loads of sticky rice
They are small portions so you need to order quite a lot but you will not be disappointed and if you are not sure what you want just ask - the staff give great recommendations.
