York Walls Festival 2020

York's city walls are the longest medieval walls in England, with a history spanning over 2,000 years.

York Walls Festival lets you explore the 3.4 kilometres of medieval defences. During the festival, you'll be able to take guided walks, attend talks and join in lots of family friendly activities. You will also have unprecedented access to two of York's towers, Fishergate Postern and Red Tower.

Free activity booklets will be available from the Festival Information Point in Museum Gardens, York Explore, Red Tower and Fishergate Postern Tower over the festival weekend.

There is also the opportunity to take part in a self-guided tour via a smartphone app, or you can join one of the free tours organised by volunteers.

Need a place to stay during the York Walls Festival 2020? Try a House of York holiday home where prices for up to 6 people start at 100 GBP per night.

109 and 107 Nunnery Lane are just by the walls or why not stay right in the centre of York at 17 Stonegate Court with its stunning balcony views of York Minster.
