Eboracum Roman Festival 2020

  • York Museum Gardens Museum Street York, England, YO1 United Kingdom (map)

The Eboracum Roman Festival takes visitors on an historic journey back more than 2000 years to Roman York by transforming York Museum Gardens into a Roman Living History camp with a Kids Army, demonstrations, lectures, activities for all ages and a parade of Roman legionaries.

Join the parades as the Roman legionaries march through the streets they once ruled and discover how they established York as a Roman Fortress.

In the Roman Arena, enrol onto the ‘Kids Army’, discover what the fashionable Roman would wear and see the legionaries gather for military displays.

Meet the writers behind the best-selling Roman novels, join guided tours of the city and meet local archaeological groups to uncover a buried city beneath your feet.

In the Yorkshire Museum, see some of Britain’s greatest Roman treasures including the statue of Mars, the Wold Newton Hoard and the head of Constantine and join in with family-friendly activities.

Join The John Hampshire Memorial Symposium to explore recent and exciting archaeological fieldwork, research and community projects with a range of expert speakers from York and beyond.

Need a place to stay during the Eboracum Roman Festival? Try a House of York holiday home where prices for up to 6 people start at 100 GBP per night.

109 and 107 Nunnery Lane are just a 10 minute walk away from the centre of town or why not stay right in the centre of York at 17 Stonegate Court with its stunning balcony views of York Minster.
